The summer months are a wonderful time when many of us look to escape the desert heat. During such times our pets are often being watched by friends, family, boarding facilities and or traveling with us. The risk of losing a pet during this period increases significantly due to the change in "routine" and/or "schedule" of the household. A microchip is the most effective way to ensure your pet is returned home safely if they become lost.
Recent studies show that less than ½ of the dogs and cats that are lost do not have any means of identification. A poll of 53 Animal Shelters across the country showed only 1.8% of cats and 21.9% of dogs were able to be reunited with their owners, due to lack of having a microchip. Those pets that did have a microchip were reunited with their owners more than 50% of the time.
A ResQ Microchip is about the size of a grain of rice and is placed with a single simple injection similar to a vaccine.
