Maja - Practice Manager

Maja

I was born in Poland where I finished two years of Veterinary School before moving to Arizona in 2001. I am currently a senior majoring in Biology at ASU. Growing up my home was always filled with dogs and cats as my sister and I gathered many strays. We were fortunate to learn compassion, love, respect and caring for animals from our parents and Grandfather who happened to be Veterinarian. I still gather strays and as a result I have four kitties: Mala, Zemi, Bear and baby Pika. I have been a Veterinary Technician for 5 years, and have been with SHAH for over a year. I enjoy working with animals every day and I would not consider any other career for myself. That is why my next step is to become certified and eventually attend Veterinary School after I graduate from ASU.

I was born and raised in Niagara Falls, New York with three sisters and one brother. My father worked for Kimberly Clark and we were transferred to Neenah, Wisconsin where I attended high school. We had Dobermans growing up, so I have always leaned towards larger dogs for pets. I attended college in Boulder, Colorado where I majored in nursing. I didn’t finish as I got married and subsequently had three sons. We also raised Great Danes and Labradors for quite a long time, followed by Dalmatians and currently Vizslas, of which we have three and a recently adopted 28# twelve year old tabby who desperately needed a home. Having loved the medical field, I received my EMT but couldn’t find work in Scottsdale, so I decided to attend the Vet Assistant program at Pima Medical College where I graduated in 2005 and was hired for my first job at Scottsdale Hills in September of 2005. I absolutely love my job and plan to stay in this rewarding field as long as possible!!! We moved to Arizona from Colorado 21 years ago. Two of my sons are here and the middle son has remained in Colorado where we visit as often as we can in the summer!
